The Somaliland Society in Malaysia warmly invites you to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Somaliland's reclaimed independence (18 May 1991). The celebration in Kuala Lumpur takes place on Saturday, 6 June 2026. Special performance by Somaliland's top singer, Mustafe Kaante. Programme highlights: • Raising of the Somaliland flag and national anthem • Keynote remarks on the Somaliland journey • Live performance by Somaliland's top singer Mustafe Kaante • Cultural performances, poetry (gabay) and traditional dance • Authentic Somali dinner and tea • Networking with the Somaliland community in Malaysia Dress code: Somaliland national colours encouraged (green, white, red). Organised by the Somaliland Society in Malaysia — a community-led, non-profit organisation that brings together Somalilanders living, studying and working across Malaysia. The society hosts cultural gatherings, national-day commemorations, and welcome programmes for new arrivals, working to preserve Somaliland heritage and strengthen community ties.
